WHAT I AM MEANT TO DO?

I am a Security Guard. Yeah. Been one for almost 22 years. The longest run in any job I have ever held. The longest run that anyone in my immediate family has ever done in one job. Not a bad run. Has had it's ups and downs. Dealt with some wonderful people and dealt with some better not remembered for their behavior. I'm king of the asylum so to speak.

I didn't think I would be here this long. I have stayed because it fit what my family needs. It is a job and not my life. Thank God for that. Seen plenty who burned themselves out with that attitude. 'I am the job!' is kind of a narrow view of things. Can't love you. I would like to think that I have more good then bad at my place of employment. If you know you know.

Good outweighs the bad. Dealt with plenty of abuse and praise. I have learned many things in my time here. How to approach people. How to handle situations. And most of all how to be okay with me. Still working on that one.

I like being needed. I like helping people. Bit of a bar tender here at the main desk. Hear a lot about people talking about this and that. Just need to talk to someone sometimes. We all do. I have learned to be more me. In other words, strange with my tone of voice; laughter; attitude and how answer things.

Meaning, I am unpredictable. Security was not my job goal. Needed the job. My goal once upon a time, was to put Marvel and DC Comics out of business. I wanted to make my career as a comic book artist and writer. That has not happened. I have accepted that result.

With that said, I have had some success. Self published some comics. Continue to write and produce my own website, barnsyink.com. And I make and customize toys. A daily comic strip on said website. Save money on greeting cards by making them myself. Birthday; anniversary and wedding posters for many of our friends.

I give most of what I make away as gifts. I already have job. I enjoy creating things. I enjoy it more being able to share this God given talent with others. They are not my talents, they are Gods. He just gave them to me to rent. If I make money, great. If I don't that is okay too. If someone laughs or feels good for a little while, by what I do, then good.God takes care of the rest.
